The customer complained of frequent chain failures on their biscuit line — the tension fluctuated, and the standard chain could not withstand the HACCP washdown cycles. After a technical review, we understood that the problem lay in the choice of material and the precision of the tensioner.
The situation and the challenge
The food-industry company produces biscuits in two shifts — the line runs 16 hours a day, and HACCP requires 3 washdown cycles daily. The standard chain began to rust after 6 weeks, and uneven tension caused vibration and extra load on the motor.

Our solution
We selected a stainless steel modular chain with a more precise tensioner and HACCP-certified components. We also proposed an installation plan that would allow the system to be replaced within a single shift, without long downtime.
- Stainless steel AISI 316L modules
- Self-adjusting tensioner with a lubrication system
- HACCP-certified seals and connectors
- Service life extended up to 3× the standard
After three months of operation, downtime fell by 30%, and the washdown cycles no longer affect the condition of the chain. The engineering approach to the problem paid off in full.

The result
The first results appeared within a month — vibration decreased, and planned maintenance no longer requires replacing the chain. The customer plans to implement a similar solution on a second line.
